What does a restroom trailer need on site?
A restroom trailer needs three things on site: level ground the truck can back onto, a garden-hose spigot within about 75 feet, and a standard 110-volt outdoor outlet for lights and pumps. Without water or power, ask for an onboard fresh-water tank or a quiet generator, listed separately on the quote.
- Clearance: allow about 20 feet of straight approach for the tow vehicle.
- Slope: a few inches of fall can be leveled with jacks and blocks; a steep lawn cannot.
- Steps: trailers have stairs, so add an ADA wheelchair-accessible unit next to it for guests who cannot climb them.
How many restroom trailer stalls do you need?
A two-station restroom trailer serves about 80 to 100 guests at a 5-hour wedding. Count each stall as one toilet and use the same event math as porta potties: 1 stall per 40 guests for 5 to 8 hours, plus 1 for every 3 stalls when there is a bar.
Worked example: 160 guests ÷ 40 = 4 stalls; with an open bar add 1 for every 3 stalls (+2) = 6 stalls, so a 4-station trailer plus 2 deluxe units, or a 6-station trailer. Use the calculator with your numbers.
Is a restroom trailer worth it for a backyard wedding?
A restroom trailer is worth it for a backyard wedding when you expect more than 80 guests, the ceremony runs into the evening, and water and power sit within reach. For smaller weddings or yards without hookups, a VIP luxury cabin or two deluxe flushing units cost less and fit tighter spaces.

Compare before you book
Most renters weigh the restroom trailer against one or two other options before they call. The pages below answer the usual next question: whether a different unit fits the job better, what the rental costs in Bellingham, and how the unit is used for that type of job.
Questions about the restroom trailer
Can the trailer run on a generator?
A small, quiet generator can power the lights and pumps. Ask for it on the quote so it arrives with the trailer.
What if the venue has no water?
Ask for a fresh-water tank setup. The tank is filled at delivery and sized for the event length.
Do you provide an attendant?
Attendant service for long events can be added. The attendant restocks, wipes down and checks tanks during the event.
Can a restroom trailer stay for a week-long event or job?
Trailers can stay for multi-day events and office-style job sites with scheduled pump-outs. Each service visit is listed on the quote.
How far ahead should I book a trailer?
Book a restroom trailer 3 to 6 weeks ahead for summer weekends. Off-season dates are often available on shorter notice.
